After months of discussion, data analysis, and community engagement, the Oregon School Board has approved a 1-hour later school start time for students on Mondays beginning on January 5, 2026. Educators will use the this one hour time period to engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). PLCs are structured collaboration sessions in which educators examine evidence of student learning and make instructional decisions based on what they learn - a practice known to increase student achievement.

The Oregon School District recently joined the Dane County Traffic Safety Commission for a press conference to urge community members to help keep our kids safe by slowing down near schools and stopping for crosswalks and school buses.
